Lively

   For this skeleton, I used vine charcoal and covered the entire page of newsprint. Then, I took away value with an eraser and added a bit back in with the charcoal, utilizing negative and positive space.
   I wanted to pay special attention to the details of the ribs and give them a bit of a jagged look, while juxtaposing this with the skeleton's smile. Despite the fact that he is dead, I wanted some personality to come through here rather than it just being an anatomical piece.
