Playing Sides

For this take on a playing card, I used Penstix markers, Micron pens, and a uniball white gel pen. I used positive and negative space on opposing sides of the card.
This piece is a depiction of the "us versus them" climate that we often feel is inescapable. One side represents greed, power, hatred, and anger. An angry king points a finger, his sash showing figures with weapons chasing other figures along a wall. The other side represents the response of love, justice, mercy and humility despite differences. The man is holding a poppy, a symbol of peace. Which side will you choose?
